2008 - 2010
Following on from the successful delivery of the 2007 Clinical Sciences refurbishment, PDG were once again engaged by Brewster Hjorth Architect's to provide full landscape services to design and construct landscaped courtyards and a new car park for the new School of Dentistry buildings. The contemporary design of these buildings was seen as crucial to the master plan developed by BHA to reimagine the campus from the existing “agricultural college campus” into a regional health science facility. BHA created a new architectural language for the campus to take the University into the new century. The design team were tasked with designing a sequence of courtyards and external spaces that draws upon the surrounding rural pasture lands through the use of native grasses and natural materials. An elevated ramp and viewing platform was designed to provide wheelchair access linking the pedestrian spine of the main campus to the new dental facility.
